Recap Roundup

Season 4 Premiere

Eighteen performance ensembles converged on Seattle, Washington for the Micro Corps International Season 4 Premiere. Some highlights from the event include 10 of the 18 ensembles being new to MCI, showing significant growth from the end of last year's Season 3. The World Class competition was especially fierce with the top-4 groups placing within 0.149 points of each other.

World Class

The Bored Knights (1st - 95.844), took gold at the first show of the MCI just like they did in Season 3. With an extremely competitive and illustrious field of performing groups in World Class, the Bored Knights only took 1st in the General Effect caption due to a 1st place finish in the Theming sub-caption. They placed 3rd in Winds, Percussion, and Colorguard. In the sub-captions they finished as high as 1st in Winds and Percussion Integration and as low as 6th in Winds Substance and Colorguard Integration.

Category 4 (2nd - 95.808) finished just under 0.04 points behind 1st place. A 1st place finish in the Colorguard caption gave them the boost they needed to hold onto the silver medal in Seattle. Category 4 owed their top marks to 1st place wins in the Colorguard Substance and Design sub-captions. They also finished 4th in Winds and 5th in General Effect and Percussion.

Red Line Regiment (3rd - 95.711) finished just under 0.02 points behind Category 4. The Season 2 Champion finished 2nd in Winds, 3rd in General Effect, and 4th in Percussion and Colorguard. Strong 1st place finishes in Overall Substance and Winds Substance kept Red Line within the top-3.

Blue Brigades (4th - 95.695) rounded out a margin of 0.149 between the top-4 groups in Seattle. The Season 3 Open Class Bronze Medalist took top marks in the Percussion caption and a 2nd place finish in Colorguard. They took 4th in General Effect with a 2nd place finish in the Theming sub-caption and 5th in Winds.

Phonic Regiment (5th - 95.008) ended their first MCI appearance in the top-5 of World Class. Phonic Regiment owed their high placement to a 2nd place finish in General Effect with a 1st place finish in the Cleanliness sub-caption. They placed 6th in Winds, Percussion, and Colorguard.

Spirit (6th - 93.804), the first MCI Champion began their Season 4 competitive tour with their strongest finish in Colorguard, placing 5th. They took 6th in General Effect and 7th in Winds and Percussion.

Blue Phantoms (7th - 93.426), another new competitor in MCI, took top marks in the Winds caption. They also finished as high as 2nd in Percussion. Blue Phantoms finished 7th in Colorguard and 8th in General Effect.

Illinois I's (8th - 90.513) took 7th in General Effect owed to a 5th place finish in Theming and 8th in all other captions.

Ocean View Regiment (9th - 82.484) ended 9th in all captions.

Marching Crabbers (10th - 56.736) ended 10th in all captions.
