About Us

Micro Corps International was founded in November of 2018 by HuhDaMan as an experiment to create an organized competition circuit for directors and their performing groups on the Micro Marching League platform. Doctor12 took up the task of hosting MCI and in the winter of 2018 the first season began. Comprised of three regular season shows and a two-round Championship event the first season began shakily but finished strong. Season 1 featured a lineup of 11 World Class, 7 Open Class, and an additional exhibition corps that performed at MCI Finals. The first MCI World Championship concluded in January of 2019, crowning Spirit of Atlanna the first MCI Open Class Champion and Spirit the first ever MCI World Champion.

Doctor12 elected to step down from his adopted leadership role of MCI, choosing instead to enter his groups as competitive ensembles. Lithium Nitro took up the role of hosting MCI Season 2 which lasted throughout March and April of 2019. The schedule of shows was expanded into a premier, 4 regular season shows, a mid-season regional, a two-round Open Class Championship and a three-round World Class Championship. Black Star Drum and Bugle Corps ascended the ranks to become MCI's second Open Class Champion while Doctor12's own Red Line Regiment was crowned MCI Season 2 World Champion.

At the conclusion of Season 2, Lithium Nitro took up the role of director of MCI as HuhDaMan stepped back from the circuit for the time being. Beginning in September of 2019, MCI Season 3 kept a largely similar schedule to the one set in Season 2.  Planned for the beginning of November, finals awards was postponed for a period of time due to external factors. Eventually the Bluecrowns would become MCI Open Class Champion after an undefeated season and Silent Sound would be ascend the ranks to become MCI Season 3 World Champion.

Season 4 began the longest season to date, featuring a national tour spanning over 4 months across 13 regional events and the 3 week long MCI Season 4 Championships in Atlanta, Georgia. Bluecrowns 2, sister corps to the Bluecrowns and a Season 3 Open Class Finalist held a consistent lead throughout the Open Class Season winning their first Open Class Championship in Atlanta. Newcomer the Blue Phantoms became the third ensemble to win a World Championship in their debut season.
