Eleven performance ensembles continued south from last weeks MCI NorCal in Santa Clara, CA towards Pasadena for the first MCI SoCal.
World Class
Blue Phantoms (1st - 97.247) held onto their position at the top of the MCI leaderboard this week in Pasadena. They would again take 3/4 captions, General Effect, Winds, and Percussion but a strong Colorguard performance by Category 4 prevented a full caption sweep. They also took 1st place finishes in 6 of the 10 sub-captions.
Category 4 (2nd - 97.104) took their second silver medal of the season. A very strong finish in Colorguard boosted Category 4 into their position, with a half-point lead over the 3rd place Red Line Regiment. They also placed 2nd in General Effect and Winds and 3rd in Percussion.
Red Line Regiment (3rd - 96.594) took their second bronze medal of the season. They placed 2nd in the Percussion caption and 3rd in the other 3 captions.
The Bored Knights (4th - 94.964) placed solidly in 4th in all captions and sub-captions.
Ocean View Regiment (5th - 82.366) continued their growth from MCI NorCal, increasing their score by 1.241. They placed 5th in all captions.
Open Class
Legion (1st - 95.091) accomplished another caption sweep and cementing an early-season dominance of Open Class. Over the last 2 weeks, Legion has held 19 sub-caption wins, the highest in MCI as of now.
The Raiders (2nd - 92.939) saw a huge jump in their score from their last performance at MCI Cascades, over 7 points. They placed 2nd in all captions and sub-captions.
Sterry HS (3rd - 87.182) took their first medal in MCI this week in Pasadena. They also saw a large growth in scores, from their previous performance at the season premiere, by over 6 points. They placed 3rd in all captions and sub-captions.
Marrowbridge HS (4th - 82.869) performed at MCI for the first time this week in Pasadena. They placed 4th in all captions and sub-captions.
