Nine performance ensembles continued south from last weeks MCI Cascades in Eugene, OR towards Santa Clara, CA for the first MCI NorCal.

World Class

​

Blue Phantoms (1st - 96.641) continue to climb the MCI ladder, taking gold this week in Santa Clara. They were the first World Class corps to take 3 of the 4 caption awards this season, placing 1st in Winds, Percussion, and Colorguard. They would only lose out on a caption sweep by 0.011 in General Effect, placing them in 2nd in the caption. The Phantoms have seen an overall growth of over 3 points from Premiere in Seattle.

Blue Brigades (2nd - 96.504) brought in their second caption award of the season, taking top marks in General Effect. Their 2nd place finishes in Winds, Percussion, and Colorguard left them just under seven-tenths behind their blue counterpart in World Class.

Category 4 (3rd - 95.827) took 3rd place in all 4 captions. In the sub-captions, they took top marks in 4 of the 10, Theming, Winds Integration, Percussion Substance, and Colorguard Integration.

​

Ocean View Regiment (4th - 81.125) brought up their score by just under two-tenths of a point from last week in Oregon. They placed 4th in all captions.

Open Class

​

Legion (1st - 97.759), last seen as Season 2's World Class Bronze Medalist, returned to MCI with a full caption sweep. They took top marks in 9 of the 10 sub-captions, a 3rd place finish in Percussion Integration prevented a full sub-caption sweep. However, their strong overall finish allowed them to hold just over 3 points above the silver medal.

Palm Gulch HS (2nd - 94.624) held a strong 2nd place and grew on their score by 8.860 points from Premiere in Seattle. They placed 2nd in General Effect, Percussion, and Colorguard, and 3rd in Winds.

​

Glassmen (3rd - 94.561) grew from their first appearance in Oregon last week. They placed 2nd in Winds, and 3rd in the other captions.

​

Ocean Blvd. (4th - 90.857) also returned to MCI this week, last appearing at the Season 3 Premiere. They placed 4th in General Effect, Winds, Percussion, and most sub-captions.

​

Orchid HS (5th - 85.884) placed 5th in all captions except for a 4th place finish in Colorguard. They've seen an overall growth of just above 2 points from the season premiere.
