Open Class

 

Bluecrowns (1st - 95.861) continued their undefeated season with a lead of over a point above second place. They found strong finishes in General Effect and Colorguard, winning both captions while taking 2nd in Winds. However a 5th place finish in the Percussion Integration sub-caption lead to an overall 5th place finish in  Percussion.

Orange Knights (2nd - 94.801) moved into Open Class going into Championships. They finished high in the Winds caption, placing 1st overall, as well as 2nd in General Effect and Percussion. They placed as low as 6th in Colorguard.

​

Kentucky Krown (3rd - 94.630) finished just under two tenths of a point behind 2nd place. They took the Percussion caption by just 0.067. Krown also finished 2nd in Colorguard, 4th in General Effect, and 6th in Winds.

​

Black Star (4th - 94.354), the Season 2 Open Class Champion improved almost 2.5 points on their score from Invitational II however a slim margin of 0.276 prevented them from placing among the top-3. Black Star finished especially strong in the Colorguard caption, placing 3rd, while taking 4th in Winds and Percussion, and 5th  in General Effect.

Bluecrowns 2 (5th - 94.234) competed in MCI for the first time at Open Class Prelims and despite the similar name has a different director from the 1st place Bluecrowns. Bluecrowns 2 finished just under 0.120 behind Black Star. They took 3rd in the General Effect and Winds captions, 5th in Colorguard, and 6th in Percussion.

Blue Brigades (6th - 93.920) held onto the last spot to move onto finals with a strong margin of over 7 points over 7th place. They placed as high as 3rd in Percussion due to an especially strong showing in the Percussion Integration sub-caption as well as a 4th place finish in the Colorguard caption. They placed 5th and 6th in Winds and General Effect respectively.

The Raiders (7th - 86.624) despite missing the finals cutoff held a 2 point lead over 8th place. The Raiders placed 7th in Winds and Colorguard and 8th in General Effect and Percussion.

​

Shadow Band (8th - 84.597) finished 7th in Percussion, 8th in Winds and Colorguard, and 10th in General Effect.

​

Marching Pioneers (9th - 92.613) finished just under 2 points behind Shadow Band. They placed as high as 7th in General Effect and finished 9th in Percussion, 10th in  Winds, and 11th in Colorguard.

​

Legacy (10th - 81.370) improved by just over 8 points from their last performance at Invitational I. In the captions, Legacy placed above the mark with 9th place finishes in Winds and Colorguard. They took 10th in Percussion and 11th in General Effect.

​

Nightriders (11th - 80.144) performed at MCI for the first time this week. They took 9th in General Effect, 10th in Colorguard, and 11th in  Winds and Percussion.

​

Pride of the Old Dominion (12th - 71.913) placed 12th in all captions.

​
